You've been through the Mythoself® experience, you know how to adjust your position, generate a strong sense of yourself... feel okay about the world... but then what?

You begin to move through the world, life happens and you get knocked off balance. Sometimes life seems to be moving too fast, or sometimes you might be moving too slowly. But either way you can't quite keep up.

Sometimes it's easy to re-access your 'Ready State', sometimes it might not seem so easy.

You know what your ideal structural position is, but how do you keep it intact while remaining functional?

The MythoSelf® Advanced program is about the functional aspect of the model. How do you hold your sense of self intact while engaged in all your day-to-day activities?

And how do you stay in your Generalised Desired State while life goes on around you, or even when the midden hits the windmill?!?

 

Note: This program is designed for those who have had some experience of the MythoSelf® Process but this is not mandatory. The MythoSelf® Advanced Program could easily be your first (and incredibly worthwhile!) introduction to the model...

One of the things people seem to get caught up in is this idea that they have to be in their Generalised Desired State all the time. And if they're not, they give themselves a hard time about it. They feel that if they are not in their Generalised Desired State, they're not 'doing it right'.

But remember this: You're human! (You are, aren't you?!) Things will happen that are outside your control. There will be times when you're off balance, out of sorts, unhinged, and there is a sense of disharmony. It's at these times that people feel frustrated and disappointed with themselves.

The trick here is to learn how to be comfortable with being off balance and uncentred. You learn how to control your physical system even though it's off balance. Then no longer is all your attention on the fact that you're off balance and the need to correct it. You use only as much of your attention as you need to, to deal with being off balance, and the rest remains available to you, to put wherever you please.

Then, of course, when you develop some skill at this level, what occurs is that you find that you're actually off balance less frequently and for a much shorter period of time. Until eventually the period of being off balance is so small that it's almost imperceptible.

How?

How do we do all this? Using Soma-Semantic™ modelling, of course! The best and fastest way to embody these concepts is to embody them. So if you enjoyed the Dance of the Elements aspect of the Mythoself® experience, prepare yourself for even more!

We will be using particular aspects of the Dance of the Elements model in applied and practical ways so you begin to generate new patterns at the muscle and skin level. The Dance of the Elements model will be used to increase your flexibility and range of behaviours easily and quickly. So those situations where you get caught out and thrown off balance no longer have the same effect on you. Instead, this MythoSelf® program teaches you how to move naturally and easily through them, maintaining your mental poise and physical balance, because you're doing things, you could say, 'in a different element' and creating new patterns...

Your pattern...

And while we're on the subject of patterns, do you know what the over-arching pattern of your own life is?

Each of us has a driving force, a motivating idea, a pattern that we run over and over and over again in our lives. A pattern that we learnt at a relatively early age. This is the pattern that allows us to be successful. We use it to get things. We use it to get care and attention from others. We use it when we don't know what else to do. And we have practiced it and honed it and repeated it for years.

And even though it allows us to be successful, it is the thing that gets in our way, that thing that holds us back, the thing that limits us.

Because for the large part, this pattern is running us. We have used it so often, that we have neglected to practice any others. In fact, we may not even consider that there may be others!

So what can you do about it? How do you change it? How do you choose what other one to use instead?

Is it better to have a whole range of patterns? And how do you know which is the best one in any situation?

All these answers, and more, will be covered over the 2 1/2 days of this MythoSelf® program.

Working with David opened up so many choices for me in my life. Suddenly, I could see many more options available to me at any time and in any situation.

Completing the Mytho Advanced course with him added to this learning by helping me see the flexibility available to me in life also. I learned about both mine and other’s patterns of behaviour and how most of us are being run by our patterns throughout our lives.

That weekend, I learned that I could actually choose to run certain patterns of behaviour if I wanted rather than allowing them to run me. In addition, I could decide to use other behaviours if that was going to serve me better… how clever is that! Several months on, I’m still ‘getting it’ as I watch those around me do certain things and react in a particular way and I find myself smiling and thinking ‘David, you’re a genius!’

Relationships

The patterns we run are usually run in relation to others, of course. We don't live in isolation, we are constantly interacting with those around us. And the success or otherwise of our relationships is very much dependent on our ability to recognise and interact with the patterns of those around us.

Our most successful relationships are those in which our patterns and theirs match, or can coexist easily. Difficulties and unease are often the result of others running habits or patterns that we cannot deal with or are uncomfortable with. It may be that our own patterns are in conflict with theirs, or even that we cannot run our own patterns. In which case we get 'stuck'.

The Mythoself® Advanced program offers several alternatives, not just to get out of this 'stuckness', but to avoid this stuckness happening altogether.

First of all, you will become much more astute and observant in terms of noticing what other people's patterns are. You will have lots of opportunities to interact with many different people and their patterns.

Secondly, having noticed what the patterns are, you will begin to learn how to use those patterns, whatever they are, to get the outcomes that you have set for yourself. When folks come across problems or difficulties, they usually try to eradicate them or prevent them from happening before they will be able to achieve their goals. But what if you had the ability to notice what was going on, and actually use that to take the next step toward your outcome.

That's not to say that you always simply accept what's going on. Sometimes, of course, it's useful to change a situation first. But it may also be more effective and more efficient to use what's actually going on as a stepping stone to continue to move in the direction of your chosen outcomes.

The third thing you will learn on the Mythoself® Advanced program is to begin to operate outside of and beyond your normal patterns. You will increase the scope of behaviours available to you. This in turn gives you the ability to deal with a wider range of other people's patterns with greater flexibility. And again, having such a wider scope available to yourself will mean that you find yourself balanced and centered much more often...
